Differences between IronPython 2.0.x and CPython 2.5.2

To be completed prior to the release of IronPython 2.0.0

Modules

sys

  • The value returned by sys.getrecursionlimit is obnoxiously high in IronPython. This is a performance optimization that can unfortunately cause ipy.exe to overflow the stack under certain circumstances. Pass -X:MaxRecursion 1000 to ipy.exe to get behavior similar to CPython. Alternatively, you can utilize the sys.setrecursionlimit to get the same effect

socket

  • the address returned by socket.socket(..., socket.SOCKSTREAM).recvfrom(...) is different from CPython. That is, CPYthon reports 0 and IronPython reports "0.0.0.0"_

Erm... Something tells me this is a bit out of date... :-)

The above information is largely incomplete and needs to be updated. For example, while zipfile module exists, it does not support any compression in the zip as that requires zlib which is not included..

Does an accurate list exist anywhere??
